The start of hydrofoiling

Long before Seatfoil existed, our team was already exploring the possibilities of hydrofoil technology. We studied how lift, drag and stability interact to create an efficient and controlled ride above the water. Through testing, prototyping and real-world development, we gained valuable experience in designing hydrofoil systems that perform reliably. That knowledge became one of the foundations of Seatfoil.

Entering solar racing

Our journey continued in the world of solar racing boats, where efficiency and performance are everything. Designing boats powered only by solar energy required us to push the limits of lightweight structures, hydrodynamics and energy management. Every component had to contribute to speed, reliability and control. The lessons learned on the race course continue to influence how we engineer products today.

From racing innovation to seatfoil

As our hydrofoil expertise and solar racing experience evolved, both worlds began to come together. The pursuit of lighter structures, smarter engineering and better performance led to new innovations in foiling technology. Many of the principles developed through years of racing and testing now live inside Seatfoil. The result is a product built on proven engineering, designed to deliver an unforgettable experience on the water.

Built by people who know the water

Seatfoil was created by Qconcepts Design & Engineering in the Netherlands: a team of designers, engineers and makers with deep experience in water sports, racing, hydrofoils and composite technology. We do not build generic water toys. We develop products for people who want to feel something special on the water.

Our background

Behind Seatfoil stands the team of Qconcepts Design & Engineering, where design, engineering, manufacturing and real-world testing come together under one roof.

Our Seatfoil journey began in 2022, when we built the first series of Seatfoils. Although that early version was not taken forward as a commercial product, it marked the beginning of a much larger development journey. We continued to refine the concept, strengthen the technology and rethink the complete user experience. This ultimately led to the market introduction of the definitive production model in 2026.

Over the years, we have been a key contributor ocean racing campaigns, solarboat programs, autonomous vessels and hydrofoil platforms ranging from experimental prototypes to professional offshore craft operating in demanding environments.

That same engineering mindset is applied to every Seatfoil. The goal is not simply to create another electric watercraft, but to make the unique sensation of foiling accessible, safe and enjoyable for a much wider audience. Today, all of that experience comes together in Seatfoil: a stable, intuitive and exciting way to experience the future of boating.
